adventure stories from the dusty corners of history

Introducing

Till The Mountain Burns

When Greek stablehand Eirene discovers a plot to invade her home,
she must ride up the mountain to light the beacon and warn her people . . .
but the only thing standing in the way is her greatest fear: the warhorse who crippled her father.

Till the Mountain Burns is a historical fiction short story that will be published
in a collection through The Author Conservatory as a fundraiser to send young writers
(like myself) to conferences so we can build our careers.

meet the writer

Born in Kenya and raised in the Alaskan wilds, Cristiana Moyer writes epic stories that explore the dusty corners of history
and cultures lost to literature.

Working with horses for eighteen years has taught her how
to face her fears with resilience (and how to gallop bareback without falling off). Her short story Till the Mountain Burns (releasing June 24) was inspired by her journey of training difficult horses, including her own colt.

Constantly trying to be jack-of-all-trades and somehow master of them too, she’s a firehouse support volunteer, tea connoisseur (nothing’s better than real Kenyan chai), and runs
a marketing business for authors.

what makes my historical fiction different?

stories from the
dusty corners of history

My whole life I’ve loved the adventures hidden in history. Stories that carry me away, make me feel and breathe the atmosphere of another time and culture, and leave me longing to somehow find a way to go back in time.

This is now what I write.

I make it my goal to find inspiration from the farthest reaches of the past, to research every project thoroughly, and to tell these stories through the eyes of those who went before us.

come for the history,
stay for the characters

Do you long for characters you relate to? Who you can heal with?

Today’s stories are full of the “strong female character,” but often these women are too strong. Too tough.

If you want characters that feel more like Éowyn or Mulan, the women who did what they had to do even when they were scared, the women who were both strong yet feminine, the women who had grit but also heart . . .

You’ve come to the right place.

tales that offer
courage, strength, & hope

My childhood in Kenya, where my family watched the country divide with national unrest and violence, taught me the importance of courage and taking care of family at a young age. As I grew older, years of bullying, trauma, and chronic illness taught me how to find my hope in Jesus, and what the meaning of true strength really is.

Stories of courage and hope pulled me through hard seasons. Now, I write these to offer strength and courage to other women who have faced darkness.
